About Us

With delicious food, opulent rooms and high quality service, The Northumberland Arms offers something for everyone.

Originally a Coaching Inn built by Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke of Northumberland, in the 1820s, the building has been lovingly restored to offer all modern luxuries while still maintaining all the charm of its past.

We are well known for our fantastic food, with our seasonal menu popular with both our locals and visitors from further afield. Our chefs pride themselves on their creative dishes, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Just a mile away from the A1, the venue offers a perfect base to explore the North East, with six individually decorated, luxury bedrooms for guests to unwind in during their stay.

The venue has benefitted from an extensive renovation during lockdown, with new décor, furnishings and technology throughout the building and we have recently expanded our outdoor drinking and dining area, which offers stunning views of the River Coquet and a 16th century bridge.
